💙💛 Our Story: Extra Blessed Creations

Handmade with Love. Inspired by an Extra Chromosome.

Extra Blessed Creations was born from something much bigger than a love for handmade goods. It was inspired by our family, our faith, and one very special little boy who forever changed our lives.

In 2024, we welcomed our son, Nathaniel, into the world. Nathaniel was born with Down syndrome, meaning he has an extra copy of his 21st chromosome. What we couldn’t have fully imagined at the time was just how much this little boy would change our lives in the most challenging, beautiful, and unexpected ways.

Nathaniel’s journey has been anything but easy. From spending months in the NICU and PICU, undergoing open-heart surgery, and continuing to overcome medically complex challenges, our sweet boy has shown us a level of strength, resilience, and determination that inspires us every single day.

His medical needs drastically changed our family’s way of life. Nathaniel required 24/7 care at home, which meant one of us had to step away from working outside the home to be there for him. Our routines changed, our priorities shifted, and we had to learn to navigate a life that looked very different from the one we had originally imagined.

But even through the hardest days, the countless appointments, the sleepless nights, and the uncertainty, we found ourselves blessed with something extraordinary: extra love, extra strength, extra purpose, and an entirely new appreciation for life’s smallest moments.

And Nathaniel wasn’t the only one who changed our hearts. Watching our daughter, Merranda-Mae, step into her role as his big sister has been one of the greatest gifts of all. The love she has for her little brother, the way she looks out for him, protects him, celebrates his accomplishments, and simply loves him for exactly who he is reminds us daily that some of life’s most beautiful lessons come from our children.

Our journey hasn’t always been easy, but it has taught us that blessings don’t always arrive in the ways we expect.

Nathaniel may have an extra chromosome, but he has brought an extraordinary amount of extra love, extra joy, and extra blessings into our lives. 💙💛

And that’s where the name Extra Blessed Creations came from.

What began as a love for creating handmade items grew into something with a much deeper purpose. With our family’s circumstances changing and one of us needing to remain home to care for Nathaniel, we saw an opportunity to turn creativity and a passion for handmade goods into something meaningful for our family.

From handcrafted soaps, lotions, and candles to jewelry, crocheted treasures, sourdough, and homemade baked goods, each creation is made with care, creativity, and love.

As a female veteran-owned small business, Extra Blessed Creations reflects the values closest to our hearts: Faith, Family, and Freedom. It represents our family’s resilience, our willingness to adapt when life takes an unexpected turn, and our desire to build something meaningful while continuing to put our children and their needs first.

More than anything, we hope our business serves as a reminder that differences deserve to be celebrated, that every life holds incredible value, and that even in life’s hardest seasons, there is still so much beauty to be found.

When you support Extra Blessed Creations, you’re supporting more than a small business. You’re supporting a family that has learned to find joy in the unexpected, celebrate every milestone, and turn life’s challenges into opportunities.

You’re also helping us share a message that means the world to our family: A diagnosis does not define a person’s worth, potential, or the incredible impact they can have on the world.

Our story is one of faith, sacrifice, resilience, and above all, love. We wouldn’t have chosen the challenges Nathaniel has faced, but we are endlessly grateful for the little boy who has taught us so much and the beautiful bond he shares with his big sister.

Because in our family, we aren’t just blessed. We’re EXTRA blessed. 💙💛

From our family to yours, thank you for supporting our dream and being part of our story.

With love,
The Neeley Family 💙💛
